Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photowalk 2011: Destination EPCOT

Colorful baskets of yarn

On October 2, I participated in the 4th Annual Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photowalk. Thankfully, Mr. Kelby (also a Floridian, I might add) decided to move the walk from July to October this year. It probably gave many a chance to capture a lot of fall color, but in Florida it means less humidity. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still hot, but it’s not sticky hot. And the above image is about as close to fall color as I’m going to capture being this far south.

I signed up with a group meeting at EPCOT. It’s a bit of a drive, but since I’ve done 3 walks locally, I wanted to do something different. The challenge here was either capturing something the screamed Disney, or go for something where you couldn’t necessarily tell was taken at a theme park. I did a little of both, and this was the shot my family and friends seemed to  like best. There are a few more on my Flickr page. You can check out all the EPCOT photowalk images here. Oh, and one of my fellow photographers captured this lovely shot of me.

Next year, I hope to participate in the Worldwide Photowalk in North Carolina!
