My interest in photography was influenced and encouraged by my father, who dabbled in photography as a hobby during his days in the military. When my siblings and I were kids, I remember dad documenting our lives and activities through photos, and occasionally bringing out the lights and tripod for posed shots. He was the first to photograph my daughter when she was born.
Dad bought me my first camera when I was in the 6th grade…a Polaroid. I still remember watching those images slowly appear on the paper. When I was in the 8th grade, he bought me my first 35mm, a Canon AE-1 Program, and I recall waiting for those images to slowly come back from the developer (unless I popped for 1 hr photo developing service). I moved to digital in 2005 and I still have that AE-1 Program.
My work has been published in marketing materials and websites for the East-West Shrine Game, Shriners Hospitals for Children, Shriners International and several photography websites.
